A Meaningful Gift

A contribution to Our Kenyan Kids is the perfect way to celebrate birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, graduations and other special occasions. Your friend will receive a greeting card announcing your gift. Your may even specify that the tax deductible receipt be made out in their name if you wish.

Memorials and Bequests

Our Kenyan Kids accepts bequests and memorial donations. Please contact Doug Warren for more information at info@ourkenyankids.com. A memorial will remain on our website in loving memory of your loved ones. One such bequest is in memory of Mathieu Herault. Click here for details of this bequest.

Fundraisers

Wall St United Church Craft Fairs are held annually in December with proceeds donated to Our Kenyan Kids. A feature of the Craft Fair is the Alternative Gift Bazaar where a donation to Our Kenyan Kids may be purchased in the name of a third party. The purchaser receives a card with information about the donation which may be sent to the third party.

Each year, we hold an Indoor Garage Sale – dates and times will be advertised in the News and Events column on thr Home Page. If you are interested in donating your gently used, in good shape items please contact info@ourkenyankids.com.

Necessities

By donating to our necessities program you will be helping children at Nairobi Children's Home be loved and cared for by our sponsored workers. $80 per month will not only benefit the children of the home with love and care, but also the family of the sponsored worker. When we first asked what was needed most at NCH, they said, "More people to love the children." This is still the case today, and with your help, we can continue this invaluable work.

Or for $60 per month, you can support a mother living with AIDS; increasing her chances of staying healthy to love and provide for her children. The parents in our "Partners For Life" group are all provided with food so that they can regularly take their anti-retroviral medication. They are given the chance to start an income generating project to become self-sufficient. This program gives people the chance at dignity that they deserve.

At Hope House Babies' Home, the Adopt-a-Cot plan costs $10 per month. By doing this you will receive details of the baby in your cot with a photo, and 3-monthly updates. If and when the baby is adopted, then you will receive the details of the next baby to use your cot. This plan has proven very successful... so much so that Hope House had to find a volunteer to help with its administration.

Education

For $50 per month, you can sponsor a student to go to high school and receive an education that will change their life. Totoweza relies on these sponsorships to support their ministry. Contributions from sponsors are fully used to pay children's school fees. The sponsorship covers school tuition and boarding fees. In addition, sponsorship also covers basic school requirements such as uniform, books and beddings for orphaned children with no other source of support.

General Information

Our Kenyan Kids depends upon your support. Your donations may be formatted in a number of ways:

In their simplest form, your donations will be added to general funds and committed on an as-required basis.

KenyaFlag

You may also specify that your donations should be used to meet needs in specific areas. This again can be on a general basis, but at a specific location, such as Nairobi Children's Home, of for help to people living with aids. You may also be more specific, such as in the following examples. You may wish the money to be allocated to the costs of providing carers at The Nairobi Children's Home, or for the purchase of medical supplies for people living with aids.

At the most specific level, you may commit to meet the entire monthly cost of one or more of the above plans. Our donors have expressed a deep satisfaction in taking on such a commitment, together with a sense of direct involvement.
